Overview
Focal – Focus & Productivity ("Focal," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Focal is published by Vista Wholesale Central LLC.
Information we collect
You can use Focal anonymously. If you choose to create an account or sign in with Apple, Google, or email, we collect your name and email address to identify your account and keep your Pro subscription in sync across your devices. When you subscribe, Apple and our payments provider process your purchase and subscription status. Your focus goals, session history, tasks, app-blocking preferences, and settings are stored locally on your device.
Where your data is stored
Account information (your name, email, and an anonymous user ID) is stored securely with our backend provider, Supabase. Subscription and purchase status is handled by Apple and RevenueCat. Your everyday focus data — tasks, session history, and blocking preferences — stays on your device.
Crash and diagnostic data
To keep Focal stable, we collect anonymous crash and diagnostic reports through Sentry. These reports are not linked to your identity and are used only to find and fix bugs.
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run Focal: Apple (Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases, and Screen Time), Google (Sign in with Google), Supabase (secure account storage), RevenueCat (subscription management), and Sentry (crash reporting). Each only processes the data needed to provide its service.
Data we do NOT collect
We do not track your location. We do not access your contacts, photos, or files. We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing.
Screen Time and app usage
Focal may request access to Screen Time (Family Controls) to block the distracting apps you choose during focus sessions. This access is used solely to provide the blocking you configure. We do not collect, store, or transmit information about which apps you use or your Screen Time data.
Notifications
Focal may request permission to send local notifications to encourage you during focus sessions. These notifications are generated on your device.
Deleting your account and data
You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account, which removes your account and associated data from our backend. Deleting the Focal app removes all data stored on your device. Any active subscription must be cancelled separately in your Apple ID settings.
Data security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information. Account data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored securely with our backend provider. Data kept on your device is protected by your device's built-in security features.
Children's privacy
Focal does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is suitable for general audiences and does not contain age-restricted content.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
